36 Amazing Uses of Blue Tansy Essential Oil

Blue Tansy Essential Oil

Blue tansy essential oil is steam distilled from the plant known botanically as Tanacetumannuum. It is also called Moroccan blue chamomile. As the name implies, this is a deep blue oil with a floral, herbaceous and slightly camphoraceous fragrance. Chamazulene is what causes the blue color. Blue tansy has analgesic, anti-allergenic, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antispasmodic, antiviral, calmative, digestive, expectorant,febrifuge, insecticidal, nervine and sedative therapeutic properties.

1. Alleviate Anxiety

Practice blue tansy aromatherapy for 30 to 60 minutes to alleviate anxiety. If you get anxiety attacks when you are away from home where you can’t run your diffuser, just keep the bottle of blue tansy essential oil with you and inhale the vapors directly from the bottle. It should only take a few deep inhales through the nose and out through the mouth to reduce anxiety.

2. Reduce Nervousness

Use blue tansy oil to reduce nervousness before an important meeting or other potentially stressful situation where you need to keep a cool head. Dab a few drops on your neck, chest and wrists.

Start out with 2% to 3% and gradually increase the strength until you get relief. Blue tansy is most effective when diluted to a strength of 5%.

Dab the 2% to 3% blend on the upper abdominal area just above the stomach between the ribs to control asthma symptoms.

Put 6 to 8 drops of blue tansy oil into your diffuser and run it for 30 to 60 minutes to relieve chest congestion. The oil’s expectorant properties thin the phlegm to make it easier for you to clear it out of your lungs. You can also add 2 drops to a bowl of steaming water and inhale the vapors. Massage a 2% to 3% blue tansy/carrier oil blend into your chest, throat and back for relief.
