Naturally Detoxing the Body

By Sabrina Wilson / July 11, 2016

So much is being said these days about cleansing and it leaves many people wondering just how beneficial it can be. But good habits in detoxifying the body naturally can assist you in achieving amazing benefits for your health.

There is more to living a healthy lifestyle than getting proper exercise and the types of food you eat. There are many toxins in a wide variety of household products, from baby powder to deodorants to cleaning products. There are other ideas you can act on along with these that will lead to the detoxifying of your body. We have composed a list of some of the simplest--as well as the most effective and natural--ways to rid your body of bad toxins and adding the elements which your body needs.

Everyday Replace a Meal with a Detoxifying Smoothie

While you never want to go to extremes as far as dieting is concerned, there are some ways to get impressive results. While naturally cleansing your body, using a detoxifying smoothie to replace a meal will work wonders. This is harmless and will not push you over the limits of your diet and it is a great way to get rid of substances and elements your body doesn’t need.

It is important not to rush into more extreme and dramatic measures by choosing a smoothie consisting of natural core ingredients. Instead of using a pre-made or chemically enhanced blend, stick to using natural foods that will properly cleanse you. This will keep your digestive system working properly as well as contribute to weight loss.

Substituting a smoothie for a daily meal will also give a jump start to your metabolism and push your digestive system into overdrive. Not only will some of the negative symptoms you suffer from daily disappear, you will also enjoy a natural boost of energy.

A favorite Green Smoothie recipe can be made with 1 cup of kale or collard greens firmly packed with the stems removed and coarsely chopped, one Granny Smith apple, coarsely chopped, a ripe banana, 1/2 a cup of loosely packed fresh flat-leaf parsley leaves. Combine the apple, kale, parsley, banana, and 2 and 1/4 cups of water in a blender; blend until smooth. Adding more water will thin the mixture.

Use Organic Foods When Possible

While you do not have to go completely organic, it is necessary when consuming certain foods. The “Dirty Dozen” is a list of foods where preservatives and pesticides are able to build up and be ingested and consumed in your body during the digestion process.

A good rule to follow is that you should choose organic anytime you are going to consume the peel or outside of a fruit or vegetable. Organic really does make a difference when it comes to foods such as apples, tomatoes, and strawberries.

You will be able to avoid toxins which are harmful to your health by choosing the right organic foods. By simply making smarted decisions at the grocery store, you will be detoxing your body without any additional effort.

Take the time to research which organic foods will make the biggest difference. Spend a few minutes reading the labels on the foods you are going to purchase in order to avoid consuming something that may cause more harm than good. These healthy decisions will help you rid your body of toxins you were previously ingesting and guide you towards a healthier and cleaner body.

An Intense Massage Goes a Long Way

The majority of us tend to think of a massage as a relaxing luxury, which in some cases it can be. A massage is a productive way to detox the body as well as being a nice treat for ourselves. The way you choose to use your massage and the type you receive will determine the extent of how healthy the results may be. If you want to rid of your body of harmful toxins, an intense massage is a great starting point. The greater the focus is on the pressure points throughout your body, the more productive the massage will be. A sports massage which is known to be more focused and more intense than a regular Swedish massage is much more productive.

Going deeper into the muscle tissue will provide more thorough results. Pressure points are where toxins will generally build up and they can be released by direct pressure. This will help naturally detox the body and help you get rid of anything that may have been making you ill or feel sick.

Make sure that the person giving the massage is a registered massage therapist and they know exactly what they are doing when it comes to releasing toxins from the body. In order to flush the toxins out of your system, be sure to drink plenty of water afterwards. By doing this on a regular basis, you will feel a positive effect that becomes part of a more healthy lifestyle.

Regardless of how much water you drink on a regular basis, increase the amount you drink daily. Water is the one thing that will dramatically help with detoxing naturally. We normally want to tell ourselves that we are already drinking more than enough, but very rarely is that the case.

Water will flush out your system naturally. This will happen routinely when you are drinking enough water on a regular basis. The proper intake of water will lead to clearer skin, your organs will function more properly, and your respiratory, digestive, and circulatory systems mill function more effectively. Consuming water has many awesome benefits to your entire body.

Forget about everything you have ever learned concerning how much water is enough. The eight glasses a day everyone has taught was to be the minimum, so don’t use that as a barrier if you want to experience more health benefits. Water needs to become your drink of choice before, after, and during each meal. You will start enjoying some of the benefits the moment you start making this a normal routine, and even more later down the line.

Wake up with Green Tea Instead of Coffee

While there is nothing wrong with a little caffeine, start becoming more cautious with how much you are consuming on a daily and weekly basis. Be wise about your source of caffeine and how you are drinking at one sitting. A cup of coffee is fine on occasion while detoxing your body. Other than that you will want to drink something else.

Green tea is packed with several antioxidants our bodies need on a regular basis. It provides the slight caffeine boosts your body craves every morning. By choosing a cup of tea in the morning over coffee, you will be drinking a cup of health boosts along with your caffeine.

By teaching yourself to embrace green tea, you will be getting the dose of caffeine you are used to, along with adding benefits to the natural detox of your body.

Use Exercise to Sweat the Bad Stuff Out

Exercise does more than help with weight loss and contribute to a healthier lifestyle. It is also a great option as far as detoxing your body. Properly exercising will increase the benefits you receive along with getting rid of the toxins you don’t want through the detoxing process.

Exercise not only burns fat, it also helps get rid of harmful toxins that have been building up inside of you. These toxins exit your body through the sweating process which naturally takes place during exercise. This will also improve your circulation, your digestion, and a challenging regimen of exercise will keep your organs properly functioning.

The breathing, movement, and perspiration will also help the body with achieving fitness goals and assist the body in getting rid of harmful substances that may have been building up over a period of time.

If you decide you want to make exercise a more regular and routine part of your life, you will be increasing your body’s ability to naturally detox on a more regular basis. This should be more than enough to provide you with an extra push and increased effort at the gym. This will help with self confidence in your attitudes as well as your appearance. It will add to your body’s ability to release the hormones that it needs to and is a great way to release added energy you will have as a result from living a healthier lifestyle. All the while you will be naturally cleansing your body through a hard earned sweat.

Great article! I have been detoxing for years, trying every plan that I can out. I love my green juice and still like to do the master cleanse by Stanley Burroughs occasionally. I like how you have touch on other options that also help our bodies to stay detoxed!
