Blue tansy essential oil is steam distilled from the plant known botanically as Tanacetumannuum (buy it here). It is also called Moroccan blue chamomile. As the name implies, this is a deep blue oil with a floral, herbaceous and slightly camphoraceous fragrance. Chamazulene is what causes the blue color. Blue tansy has analgesic, anti-allergenic, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antispasmodic, antiviral, calmative, digestive, expectorant,febrifuge, insecticidal, nervine and sedative therapeutic properties.
1. Alleviate Anxiety
Practice blue tansy aromatherapy for 30 to 60 minutes to alleviate anxiety.
