Introduction

If you have ever had any kind of worm, you know how scary and annoying they can be. In case you are one of the fortunate ones who have not had worms or who have not encountered worms with your children, we are going to give you a little breakdown of what you can expect. Then we are going to give you some simple home remedies that you can use to get pinworms out of your system.

How Worms Get into Your System

Worms like ringworms and pinworms are the most common in people who are institutionalized, children, and members of families or households that share space with someone who already has a pinworm infection.

So how do you get a pinworm into your system? The most common way that kids get pinworms is from scratching their rectums, not washing their hands, and then sitting down to eat a meal. The worms then inhabit the base of the anus and cause extreme rectal itching. During the process, they also lay their eggs. With all of the itching that is involved that they have when they have a pinworm infection, it is almost inevitable that they will again ingest the worms or worm eggs, and repeat the cycle.

The good news is that there are some very simple home remedies that you can use to get rid of pinworms, and you can also use over the counter drugs to get rid of them.

Home Remedies for Pinworms

Here are some common, natural home remedies for pinworms.

1) Changing your Diet

Changing your diet is one of the easiest ways that you can nourish yourself and get rid of the pinworms in your system. Pinworms thrive on starches and sugar, so the more starches and sugary foods that you eat, the longer they are going to hang around. Fruits, vegetables, and other high fiber foods like whole grains and bran are great for flushing the pinworms out through your stool.

2) Better Hygiene

Hygiene is key when trying to get rid of pinworms, and reducing the chances of you getting pinworms. Make sure that you are washing your hands before every single meal, first thing in the morning when you wake up, and after every single time that you use the bathroom. Make sure that you scrub underneath your nails too to prevent the spreading of feces and bacteria.

3) Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is another great way to purge pinworms from the body. All you have to do is take 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil in the morning, and follow it with a few tablespoons of castor oil 2-4 hours later. The combination of the two should flush them from the body.

4) Grapefruit Seed Extract

Grapefruit seed extract is another great way to relieve your body. All you have to do is take 8-12 drops of grapefruit seed extract in a glass of water, and drink that 3 times daily until your symptoms improve. It should only take about one week.

5) Clove and Flaxseed

The potency of clove and the fiber in flaxseed is yet another great way to cleanse your system of pinworms. Crush a clove and mix it in with some flaxseeds. You can add this simple mixture to your meal once per day for three days in a row, then cycle for three days off.

6) Onions

The natural sulfur that is present in onions is another great way to smoke pinworms out of your system. Slice up a medium to large sized onion and soak it in a pitcher of water overnight. Drink three glasses of that onion water mixture per day, to expunge the worms from your intestine.

7) Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is another reliable and classic way to get worms out of your system. The acid in the apple cider will flush your system and make it almost impossible for the worms to survive in your body. All you have to do is mix one to two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water, and drink at least one glass daily.

8) Carrots

Carrots are an excellent source of nutrition, and they are also a healthy and fibrous dietary choice for getting worms out of your system.

9) Garlic

We are talking about cloves of actual garlic, not the powdered garlic or garlic salt. Since garlic is a super potent, super food it is another really great way to flush the pinworms out of your system. Mix in some cloves of garlic into your lunch or dinner.

10) Probiotics

Probiotic supplements and probiotic rich foods are another great way to get rid of pinworms. Probiotics increase the amount of healthy bacteria in your gut, which makes it harder for pinworms to survive and reproduce.

Conclusion

Now you have a complete list of some really effective natural remedies for getting rid of pinworms.
