The Cure for 9 Health Problems…Just Add Water

Did you know that approximately 70% of the human body is made of water? Water is essential for life and optimal health. However, not all water is created equal. Clean water intake is the type of water we need to thrive. This is water that is in its purest form. Water from juices, teas, coffees, and sodas does not count as clean water.

In fact, water from these types of beverages defeats the purpose. They are actually diuretics, which mean they encourage our system to excrete the water through urination. In turn, we are not retaining the water, which is what we actually need to be doing.

Water really is an all-natural miracle worker. It is not only great for the physical appearance but it also can help prevent most major health ailments. The human body contains histamine. When we do not get enough water, the histamine may over compensate for this, potentially leading to the following conditions:

  • Allergies
  • Asthma
  • Chronic pain
  • Weight gain
  • Fatigue
  • Headaches
  • High blood pressure
  • Kidney disease
  • Ulcers

According to the Institute of Medicine, 75% of Americans are not getting enough clean water (Natural News). The quality of the water is extremely important. Most tap water and public drinking water is contaminated with fluoride and chlorine. The fluoride and chlorine can cause serious issues if consumed over long periods of time.

In order to make sure the water you’re drinking is clean, pure, and healthy for you, you will want to make sure you have a water purification system at home. These systems will reduce or eliminate the additives and impurities from the water. In turn, it will be safe for you and your family to drink.

The best system is usually a reverse osmosis (RO) system because they remove everything but the pure water. They are more expensive and harder to install and maintain than pitcher filters though. They also create a lot of wastewater for each glass of pure water they produce. If you want a pitcher filter, the Zero Water system also does a great job and comes with a water tester so you can conveniently keep tabs on contaminants.

When storing water, stay away from plastic containers. These containers or bottles end up leaking Bisphenol or BPA. Bisphenol or BPA has been proven to cause hormonal imbalances. Instead, look for BPA-free water containers. Also, it is important to know the alkalinity of the water. You will want to look for water that is naturally alkaline.

Stay away from artificial alkaline water. This can cause medical issues such as urinary tract infections, abdominal pain, and hypertension. Lastly, try to avoid dehydration by understanding your body’s cries for water. Hunger is commonly mistaken by your brain for thirst. Try drinking water instead of snacking often. Not only will this keep you hydrated and healthy but it may also help with your weight loss goals.
