Best Body Butter

While the industrial age has come with many positives, it has also caused a significant increase in the amount of toxins and chemicals found in the air. Combine this with the introduction of cars and motorbikes onto our streets, and you have cause for a huge drop in air quality.

Now while this has little impact on our global health, it can actually take quite the toll on our skin.

You see, the skin acts as one of our primary defence mechanisms, in which it is our first point of contact with the outside world.

With this in mind, it plays key roles in resisting air bound toxins and chemicals, fighting off harmful pathogens, limiting the impact of environmental damage, and ultimately keeping everything inside the body isolated and healthy.

Unfortunately, while this is a good thing, it can cause some damage to the cells of our skin. This can in turn lead to dry and damaged skin, while also increasing our risk of developing wrinkles and blemishes.

As a result, it is of the utmost importance that we look after our skin – because it does one hell of a job looking after us!

Which is right where body butter comes into the equation.

What Is Body Butter?

Body butter is a unique product developed with the intent to moisturize and nourish the skin, reversing some of the damage caused by those aforementioned factors.

As an added bonus, many high quality body butters also contain an abundance of essential nutrients that are known to support skin cell health and function. Considering this, they have the potential to cause large improvements in the global health of our skin, while also staving off general declines in skin quality.

This is obviously of serious benefit for those individuals who regularly suffer from dry and irritated skin, and those looking to maintain the health of their ski for as long as possible.

Body butters are very different to our more traditional skin lotions and moisturizes because they are quite dense in nature (hence the name ‘butter’). Because of this, they take more time to sink into the skin, and often require more thorough application.

While some may view this density as a slight inconvenience, it is important to note that this greatly increases its capacity to protect the skin from environmental factors (such as harmful UV rays), while simultaneously improving the skins ability to maintain hydrated throughout the day.

This can go a very long way to causing immediate improvements in skin quality, while also reducing the risk of incurring general skin damage.

What Should I Look for in a Body Butter?

As we have discussed a little already, body butters should have the capacity to provide essential nutrients to the skin. With this in mind, it is obviously essential that body butters contain these nutrients in the first place [1].

It is for this reason that we recommend you look for a product that contains organic oils and butters such as coconut oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, and almond oil. Each of these ingredients are extremely rich in healthy fats and nutrients, and can therefore nourish the skin while boosting its hydration and function.

Additionally, assuming these come from purely organic sources, you can be assured that they will be gentle on the skin, while also demonstrating a capacity to reduce the nasty inflammation and redness that comes with dry, irritated skin [2, 3, 4].

In conjunction with the above oils, some products also include a great compound known as Jojoba oil. This oil comes from a plant that is native to Arizona and Mexico, and has been shown to treat acne, promote skin cell regeneration, and soothe irritated skin, making it the perfect addition to a quality body butter [5].

And finally, those products that include essential oils derived from lavender, sandalwood, and frankincense, also offer fantastic options as they have even greater ability to hydrate and heal the cells of the skin.

I’ve tried shea butter, as i had some very visible stretch marks and I read that shea butter is very effective so i tried it, after 30 days of applying i can be able to see the result. But it depends on the type of body butter and quality you use.
